Original story below:
The Hudson County Prosecutor's Office is asking for the public's help locating a driver who struck a pedestrian in Jersey City last week and left the scene.
The 36-year-old victim was struck around 11 p.m. Thursday at Christopher Columbus Drive and Grove Street. He is being treated at Jersey City Medical Center, where he is in critical but stable condition.
Investigators later determined he had been crossing Christopher Columbus when he was hit by a Chrysler Town & Country minivan seen in surveillance video (images attached). The model year is between 2008 and 2010, the prosecutor's office also said.
Authorities say the vehicle is light in color, possibly gray or silver, and may have side mirrors that are black. The passenger side mirror might be missing from the vehicle. The minivan also has window tinting on the rear windows and would likely have damage to the lower right side of the front bumper area.
It was traveling east on Christopher Columbus when it struck the victim and continued in that direction before turning north on Green Street.
Anyone with information about the collision is asked to contact the Regional Collision Investigation Unit at 201-915-1345 or to leave an anonymous tip on the Hudson County Prosecutor’s official website at: http://www.hudsoncountyprosecutorsofficenj.org/homicide-tip/.
